Statistically it is known that an astounding 80% of females by the age of 50 years will eventually become infected with this virus. (Sent to Assembly Committee on Health 1/5/11) * AB 1946 would require insurance companies to provide coverage for the vaccine against human papilloma virus. (Sent to committee 1/12/11) * AB 2360 would encourage voluntary, informed vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) for school-aged children and their parents or guardians. (Sent to committee 1/18/11) * Currently since 2008 there are only two active mandat es of the HPV vaccination in effect in Washington D.C. and the state of Virginia. Stakeholders: Healthcare Industry: Healthcare industries are indispensable stakeholders in the HPV vaccine legislation for a multitude of reasons. Their role in educating patients and family members about HPV and the vaccine through healthcare centers such as, oncology centers, school health programs, immunization services, â€Å"safe sex† programs, and various female health centers. Clinicians and healthcare providers are the primary educators in environmental health. Through rapport and active communication between clinician and patient are stepping stones in both understanding the ailment of HPV and accepting it’s concomitant vaccination.
